AI Is a Bicycle for the Mind. Not a Replacement for the Rider.

Steve Jobs once described the personal computer as a “bicycle for the mind.”

Humans are not the fastest or strongest species. But put a human on a bicycle and efficiency increases dramatically.

That was his metaphor for computing.

I think about AI the same way.

AI is not a replacement for human judgment. It is an amplifier of human capability.

Spreadsheets did not eliminate accountants. They expanded what finance teams could model and analyze.

AI will not eliminate underwriters, operators, or product leaders.

It will expand how precisely and how quickly they process information and make decisions.

The organizations that treat AI as augmentation will compound their advantage.

The ones that treat it as headcount reduction will miss the point.
